The objective of every music artist is TO BE KNOWN. The bigger the audience for a song and by extension the artist performing the song, THE BIGGER THE SONG!
This may require rethinking what is working for you. The current yardstick measuring success is streaming, but streaming is a PASSIVE medium and does not serve your active fans.
The post-pandemic ‘Attention Recession‘ is impacting music perhaps more than other digital media. Further, the larger your fanbase grows and the revenue derived from fans increases your percentage of revenue from streaming gets smaller.
Another way to look at fans is to look at them as patrons who support your art. This requires a different and better way to engage them.
Passive platforms are fine for general consumption but allowing fans to engage on platforms that encourage engagement like Tik Tok or Twitch should be in your marketing arsenal.
Supporting memes, singing and sharing is quality engagement leads to real $upport.
